HEY everyone! I’m Kelcee! I’m addicted to coffee, love all the pretty things, and I have an AWESOME SAUCE husband who puts up with my shenanigans on the daily- his name is Jordan. Life is pretty decent if you are picking up where I’m going with this. There is so much to tell you about myself to really get to know me and share my heart with you.
Just a fair warning, today’s blog is going to be pretty long winded and as if I’m talking because that’s how I type. So if you are looking for something that is going to be graceful and elegant, I can’t necessarily promise that is what you are going to see from me. Sorry- but not really
So let me start off with a little bit about me and really dive into why/how I became an event planner, because that’s probably what you are really wanting to know right? Right! But I guess I’ll start with the boring stuff first.
So for starters- if you see me running around, there is a 99.9% chance I’ll be rocking the messy bun with a coffee in my hand because both of those things GIVE THIS GIRL LIFE! I love music and have frequent jam sessions and dance parties, so the odds of you hearing me sing at the top of my lungs are SUPER HIGH! I also love jewelry with a crazy collection of accessories that is probably absolutely unnecessary, but hey it makes my heart happy! That is just some of the quirky stuff about me. You want me to get to the gushy stuff, huh? Well look no further, maybe scroll down a little and I’ll explain some more.
This AMAZING human is my husband, best friend, my partner in crime and the best dang thing since sliced bread in my life. His name is Jordan, but I call him hubs.
Jordan and I met during freshman orientation at college and almost instantly became friends. We had so much fun during college and he was there by my side through the good, bad, and ugly. After we graduated college, we started dating. For a year, our relationship consisted of 7 months of long distance, 3 months of basic training and only communicating through letters, and multiple weekend trips to visit. He had been stationed at Fort Sam Houston in Texas when we were notified that he would be stationed for a year in Washington state, which was a pretty big surprise to us. Once he found out, we had about 6 weeks to plan a wedding once he asked for my parents’ blessing and WHAM BAM THANK YOU MA’AM, we were married and moved out to Lakewood, Washington. More of the wedding details will come soon to a blog near you *wink wink*
Oh and Josh and Jeanette took our wedding pictures and they are so stinking awesome! But I’m sure you already know that.
Now onto the MAIN EVENT….
WHY DID KELCEE BECOME AN EVENT PLANNER?!
Well let me tell you! Did I always dream of becoming an event planner? No not really, but details and organization have ALWAYS been my thing and where I thrive. Honestly, I didn’t know event planner was a job to pursue until college and I asked a few people for their opinions about life while I was trying to find my path and make big time future decision about what I was supposed to do for the rest of my life. Which by the way at 19 years old is crazy to think about! SO. MUCH. PRESSURE! After a lot of prayer, some opportunities came about and event planning seemed to be what set my heart on fire! Once I found out what all was involved, I became obsessed and loved the idea of being an event planner! And that is when I found my niche and have dreamed of this becoming an option for a career and now finally is the time where I get to live out what I always imagined.
I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Josh and Jeanette for allowing me to become a part of Sparrow Hill and letting me live out this dream that could only have worked out because of God’s timing and His purpose. It is time to take a leap of faith and do what makes me smile from ear to ear. I’m so excited for this opportunity and I hope I get the chance to meet you and plan an event for you!
Until then, it was nice chatting and I can’t wait to share what is about to go down and all the amazingness that will be happening at Sparrow Hill!
