Trent and Haley had their mini wedding at Sparrow Hill, and it was a beautiful day! Haley chose a photographer that was very special to her to photograph the wedding. I saw some of the images on the back of her camera and am so excited to see the full gallery! While we wait I wanted to blog about what was a very special day with some amazing people!
We fit just over 56 guests in our hall space for Haley’s mini reception. I loved her navy cloth napkins and the beautiful cake her grandmother made for them. Our ivory linens + handmade head table really made my heart happy. Simple and elegant decor adorned the tables making the space look timeless and classy.
The ceremony was beautiful and full of laughter and love. Intimate and heartfelt. Their arbor was wrapped with the lightest blush tulle and greenery with pink flowers.
I’d love to just not mention Covid and keep pushing forward without acknowledging it at all. If I did though, we would miss out on noting the silver linings that came with having a mini wedding before their full reception. We have four daughters who run all over this place with us 6 days a week, but most every Saturday they go to be with friends or a sitter while we give our 100% focus to our couples and their families. We haven’t had the girls with a sitter since mid march though, and when I mentioned in passing that I wasn’t sure what childcare looked like for our mini weddings both Melinda and Haley were quick to invite the girls to be a part of their days. My favorite part of the entire day was when, around the fire in her “bride” robe, Haley got down on E’s level to talk to her all about being a princess and listened to everything E had to say. Haley’s grandmother also spoiled H with some icing from the wedding cake, and K&J came in to help me clear linens and were given instructions to eat all the snacks they could handle. Even recounting it now brings me to tears. What could have been a devastating blow for the venue has instead reminded us of why we do this, and who we do it for. Our couples are amazing people and we are truly blessed by them.
What we learned : We are so blessed.
Josh’s favorite part: “Having her friend face-timed in for the ceremony. That was a really sweet touch.”

We really can not wait to celebrate again with these guys in August. It’s going to be a blast!
