Best friends since 2004, we are a husband and wife photography duo living big city dreams as small town people.

Emma and Julia tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in August. The second we met them we knew they would become our friends, and we were so thrilled when they decided to call Sparrow Hill their wedding venue! I think I’ll save their story until the next blog post, and I would be remiss to not mention that Covid messed with a lot of our 2020 brides plans. At Sparrow Hill, we gave all our couples the option to have a mini wedding on their original date and postpone the larger celebration until next year. Emma and Jules had a lot of family and friends from out of town and state and decided to postpone. They still wanted to have their ceremony on their original date though, so the mini wedding was born!

With simple and very pretty details pulled together by their families, they were able to do just that! Emma’s mom did her hair, ( with a little help from Savannah and I) there were magical florals from etsy and the most perfect weather.

This was one of my favorite moments. Emma’s dad officiated the ceremony and her mother walked her down the aisle. I loved how they made the ceremony perfect for who they are and what was important to them.

A friend of the family recorded and live-streamed the ceremony in a private facebook group for those who could not attend.

One of the best parts of this wedding was that I got to photograph it! Which honestly just included a lot of walking and laughing.

Then it was time for the mini reception. So many thoughtful details were displayed here! The goblets had the legacy of marriages before theirs engraved on them. The cake and cupcakes were flawless and perfect for them. And the FOOD. A taco/mexican/fajita bar was set up and it was possibly the best food we had all season. They also left us leftovers and we ate them for a few days after. SO GOOD.

At some point I will write a blog about our team here, but for now, Savanah was our coordinator for the day and she loves her job.

Emma and Julia, thank you so much for blessing us with your presence in our lives! You are a light and a breath of fresh air.

Staff favorites:

Jeanette’s favorite part : “Her dad officiating the ceremony! I love to hear the “this ring is a circle” part of a marriage ceremony. There’s just something about it.

Savannah’s favorite part: ” Their first dance. It was so them and made me smile. The love they share fills the room and shows how happy they are together.”

Josh’s favorite part : ” Two words. Fajita. Bar.”
